As another week of Yahoo fantasy football draws to a close we take a look back at the players who made an impact in Yahoo fantasy football week 3 and a look ahead to week 4.

The top point scorers in Yahoo fantasy football in standard leagues were Wire receivers one of who would have been playing in most teams whilst the other would have been sitting as a free agent in most leagues.

Wes Welker of the Patriots & Rookie Torrey Smith of the Ravens both scored 34 points Welker got their by catching 2 TD’s for 217 and Smith scored 3 TD’s for 152 yards for his breakout performance. The one positive for Smith was his effort got his team the win whilst Welker’s Patriots fell to their first loss of the season.

The top running back from this weeks Yahoo fantasy football was Darren Mcfadden who rushed for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Raiders upset win over the New York Jets. The only Issue for McFaddens fantasy owners is that he had a tight groin in the victory but it is not believe to be too serious.

The top performing Quarter back was Joe Flacco who threw for 389 yards with 3 touchdowns and no Interceptions. The top Tight End was Green Bays Jermichael Finley with 3 TD’s and 85 yards, the best performing defence belonged to the Baltimore Ravens who restricted the Rams to just 7 points and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

For running backs Ray Rice & Adrian Petersen both have good match ups against poor Run Defenses. Tom Brady will continue his strong start to the season and another 400 yard 3 Touchdown performance is in the offing.
