World Series Game 6 2011

World SeriesAfter a change to the World Series Schedule due to rain forecasted in the St Louis area World Series Game 6 was moved to Thursday rather than the original slate of playing on Wednesday at Busch Stadium. The rainout was the first rainout in World Series history sinceĀ  2008.

After World Series Game 5 the Texas Rangers were just one win away from becoming the 2011 World Series Winners. In Game 5 the last home game for the Texas Rangers saw a Mike Napoli double help the Rangers on the way to a 4-2 win over the St Louis Cardinals.

In a World Series which has been very back and forth with neither team being able to take control of the series. However the Cardinals head back home for the next 2 games and the Cardinal faithful will hope that the homefield advantage will allow them to be this years World Series Champions.

World Series – Preview

Looking ahead to tonights match where many believe that despite the extra rest for the pitchers both teams will stick with the same starting pitchers. For Texas Colby Lewis is on the mound hoping to pitch his team to the final win in World Series 2011. For the Cardinals Jaime Garcia will take to the mound who has already coped with pressure earlier on in this years postseason.

This is the second consecutive World Series appearance for texas who lost in last years World Series to the San Francisco Giants. Texas would lose the series 4-1 but have bounced back this season and are on the verge of winning the franchise first World Series.

My prediction for tonights match would be to expect a home win and the evenly contested World Series to go to game 7.

That concludes our look ahead to tonights World Series game 6 and if your looking for the World Series score visit ESPN who will keep you up to date with the World Series Live.
