When do you start looking forward to the NFL playoff schedule

With the NFL lockout still looming large over the National Football League and with the end not appearing any closer even with all the court room litigation the light at the end of the tunnel is very dim. However this April the Commissioner Roger Goodell decided to release the regular season schedule as per normal which then gets any NFL thinking if their team will perform well enough to end up on this seasons NFL Playoff Schedule. To make the postseason in the NFL you must either be one of the 4 divisional winners or be 1 of the 2 wild cards.

With the season looking less likely with every day that goes by the NFL Draft gave fans a reason to get excited and even going as far as making their own NFL Playoff Schedule prediction. Will the Carolina Panthers new Franchise Quarter back Cam Newton be enough to propel them back into the playoff prediction or has your team drafted the final pieces to their Championship puzzle. The draft has made or broken teams futures over the past decade and time will only tell who’s draft will turn their teams into World Champs.

When the season is reaching the closing stages it is only natural for players, coaches and fans to start looking at the possible NFL playoff schedule scenarios. As teams and fans have to look at their potential travel schedules should there teams make the end of season festivities. The scenarios can change at the last second with a game tying field goal or a Hail Mary pass, making statisticians have to number crunch in order to drill down into every possible way the playoffs could happen.

All this talk about the playoffs and the post season makes me think of the many classic NFL Playoff schedule games. As a New York Giants fan my personal favourite moment came in Super Bowl XLII where after Eli Manning scrambled out of the pocket and launched a 32 yard pass to David Tyree who caught the ball by controlling it on his helmet. A truly awesome and unbelievable and awesome play which in turn lead to the game winning drive leading to the Giants winning the Superbowl. Each fan throughout the league will have a moment which has changed their post season fortunes. What is your favourite moment?

So when all is said and done and all the action is settled on the gridiron their will only be 1 team to lift the hallowed Lombardi trophy. Lets all hope that the league, the owners and players can come to an agreement on the collective bargaining agreement so that come February 5th 2012 at the Lucas Oil stadium we can all be watching the spectacle that will be Super Bowl XLVI.
