Western Conference Finals – Thunder at Spurs

Game 2 is the second of the best of seven series and took place in San Antonio and the Thunder were looking to level the series after blowing a 9 point lead in Game 1. However the Spurs were on there game making sure they kept their home court advantage and wanted to take a 2 game lead before heading to Oklahoma.

Game 2 of the 2012 Western Conference Finals played out completely differently than the series opener with the Spurs dominating from the first tip. The Spurs opened up a 6 point lead in the first quarter & then extend that lead to 11 points with a score line of 55 – 44 at halftime.

The 3rd quarter didn’t get much better for the Thunder as they trailed by 16 at the end of the 3rd, a minor rally in the 4th closed the gap on the Spurs but they couldn’t get close as the Spurs won 120-111. With the win the spurs take a 2-0 series lead & also broke an NBA record with their 20th consecutive win bridging the regular season & the playoffs.

Tony Parker leads the Spurs to a 2-0 lead – Western Conference Finals

If the Thunder are to get anything out of the series they must find a way to stop veteran point guard Tony Parker who scored 34 points with 8 assist & 3 rebounds.

For the Thunder its back to the drawing board as they try to get a victory in the western conference finals. They had big performance from their star players with kevin Durrant scoring 31 & Westbrook scoring 27, a key for the thunder will be trying to stop Parker.

The Thunder have until Thursday to think of a new game plan as Game 3 tips off at 9pm Eastern from the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Tonights NBA Playoff action comes from Miami as the Heat welcome the boston Celtics back to South Beach for Game 2 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.
