NFL Games Week 1 – Ravens defeat Steelers

NFL Games

NFL Games

After Thursdays trading opener of the NFL football season where the Super Bowl Champions the Green Bay Packers beat the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau field in a 42 -34 shootout win. The NFL regular season kicked off in dramatic fashion on Sunday with some high profile NFL Games.

The first NFL games we will highlight is looking at how the Indianapolis Colts would cope without their star Quarterback Peyton Manning. The answer is they would miss him hugely as they suffered a humiliating 34 -7 loss against the Houston Texans. Manning’s replacement veteran Kerry Collins threw their only score but fumbled the ball 3 times which resulted in Texans scores. Colts fans will be hoping Manning will be back sooner than the expected 3 months otherwise their season may be over before it starts.

In other NFL games the Baltimore Ravens avenged their playoff loss last year by Man Handling Ben Roethlisberger an embarrassing the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-7. Ray Rice & Joe Flacco were the stars of the show for the Ravens and would have pleased any NFL.com fantasy owners who had them in their teams. The ravens defence will also have to be congratulated as they forced 7 turnovers from the Steelers offence.

NFL Games – Bills get season off to a flyer

In one of the most surprising NFL games of the weekend was Buffalo’s rout of the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas. The Bill who were unspectacular last season showed a dynamic offence with scores coming from their receivers & running backs. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 4 touchdowns and C J Spiller scampered in for a touchdown on the ground to complete the upset win in week 1′s NFL games.

Elsewhere in Week 1 NFL games Plaxico Burress scored his first touchdown since his release from prison in the New York Jets 27-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys. There was also wins for Washington,Chicago, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Detroit, Jacksonville and Arizona.

In the opening week of NFL games the NFL players to catch the eye were San Diego’s Mike Tolbert who had 3 TD’s, Kenny Britt of the Titans who had 136 yards from 5 receptions and 2 Touchdown’s. However my star of the Week is Rookie Cam Newton who in his opening game despite it ending in a toss finished with 422 passing yards 2 TD’S and a rushing touchdown to show a very complete 1st NFL game.
