Tonight brings about the start of the NBA Finals and sees the best of the Western Conference take on the best of the Eastern conference to finish off this seasons NBA Playoffs. This years NBA Playoff sees the Miami Heat go head to head with the Dallas Mavericks .

To get to the finals the Dallas Mavericks having swept reigning NBA Playoff Finals Champions the Los Angeles Lakers in the conference semi finals the Mavs then went on to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the conference finals and won that series in 5 games and set up their meeting with the Miami Heat.

The Heats route to final took them past the Boston Celtics in 5 games and then the Chicago Bulls in 5 games again. No matter how much you dislike the Heat you have to admire how quickly the big 3 have gelled together and 1 step away from proving why they all came together in Miami.

Now lets look at the match up between the two teams and in the regular season the Mavericks won both games, but don’t read too much into that as the Heat seem to be more focused in this post season than they ever appeared to be in the regular season. Both the Heat and the Mavs are hungry to win the finals and each for their own reasoning. The Mavs want to win to put to rest their multiple flops in post seasons gone by and The Heat in order to start building there own dynasty.

The Series kicks off in Miami tonight with the first 2 games being played at the American Airlines Areana before heading to Texas for 3 games and then back to Miami if required.

So prediction time and in my opinion if Dallas are to win Dirk Nowitzki is going to need some support from Jason Terry, Tyson Chandler & veteran Jason Kidd in order to cope with the might of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James & Chris Bosh. Even if the Mavs step up I cant see past the Heat and see them winning the series in 6 games.

No doubt this years NBA Final will make headline news and will be the sporting event of the summer and has the potential to be a classic.
