Euro 2012 Scores – Portugal & Germany win in Group B
Wednesday saw Day 6 of the Uefa Euro 2012 tournament take place with the action coming from Group B or as know the Group of Death as it featured 4 of the countries ranked in the top 10 of the FIFA World Rankings. This is the second round of games in this group after Germany defeated Portugal & Denmark shocked Holland in the opening games in Uefa Euro 2012 Group B.
UEFA Euro 2012 – Portugal 3 – 2 Denmark
The early game of tonights Uefa Euro 2012 results saw Portugal taking on Denmark in what was a must win game for Portugal as a loss would see them out of the competition. It was Portugal who made the perfect start scoring in the 24th minute with a thumping near post header & Portugal doubled their lead through a close range strike from Helder Postiga to give Portugal a 2-0 lead. However Denmark would reduce their deficit through a smart headed finish by Nicklas Bendtner just before half time.
Denmark would then level the match in the 80th minute as another strong header from Nicklas Bendtner tied the game. Yet the scoring was not over yet as a stunning strike from Silvestre Varela in the 87th minute would give Portugal all 3 points and a lifeline in Group B.
Germany 2 – 1 Holland – Uefa Euro 2012
In the second game of the night from Euro 2012 saw Germany take on Holland who again needed a win to stay competition but Germany were too efficient and too good and defeated Holland to effectively book their place in the Euro 2012 Quarter finals.
Germany took a 2-0 half time lead thanks to a Mario Gomez first half double, his first goal was a smart finish after a neat turn inside of the box, whilst his second was a great strike from the corner of the box.
Robin Van Persie scored a superb 20 yard strike to make the score 2-1 but the goal would simply be a consolation goal as the Germans efficiency shined through.

Euro 2012 – England kick off campaign with a draw
The Euro 2012 group stages reached the final group which was Group D which features co hosts Ukraine, France, Sweden & England. The 2 obvious favourites from Group D are France & England but they have both had difficult tournaments as of late and they opened the tournament in Donetsk.
Euro 2012 England campaign has been under the radar with limited expectations from the English football fans and the same can be said for France Euro 2012 hopes despite carrying a 21 game unbeaten record into the tournament.

The Euro 2012 Group D opener featured England & France and both teams were looking to open their Euro 2012 Campaign off with a win & England had the better of the Early exchanges as James Milner rounded Lloris in the France goal only to shoot wide.
However it would be England who would open the scoring after captain Steven Gerrard whipped it a free kick which was headed home by Joleon Lescott on the half hour. For Joleon Lescott it was his first goal for the England Senior Team and sent the England fans at the Donbass Arena into raptures.
However the lead for England would only last 9 minutes as the England defence gave Nasri too much room and he slotted a precise 20 yard past Joe Hart at his near post.
The scores would be tied at 1-1 at half time both teams would have been satisfied & the second half was a lot tighter with France getting the better of the chances but the scores would stayed tied at 1-1 which would be a fair result for both teams.
In the second game of the UEFA Euro 2012 Group D saw co hosts Ukraine take on Sweden in Kiev and after a drab 1st half the action was kept for the 2nd half. Ibrahimovic gave Sweden the lead but Ukraine would come from behind to win 2-1 thanks to a Shevchenko double to leave Ukraine on top of Group D after the first game.

With the Uefa Euro 2012 Championships just 10 days away the Euro 2012 Countdown has well and truly begun with all 16 countries involved in the competition having to have finalised their Euro 2012 Squads on Tuesday.

England’s Euro 2012 squad had one changed which was forced upon them after their friendly with Norway on Saturday. Gareth Barry picked up a lower abdomen injury which would leave him sidelined for the duration of the tournament. Barry’s replacement was Everton central defender Phil Jagielka and he will be in the 23 man squad heading to Euro 2012 after England’s friendly against Belgium on Saturday at Wembley.
Another home nation will be in the Euro 2012 tournament and the Republic of Irleand Euro 2012 squad also featured 1 change as Wolves Kevin Foley was not deemed fit enough to be included after being put in the provisional squad. Englands forward options will consist of Andy Carrol, Jermaine Defoe, Danny Welbeck & Wayne Rooney despite him being suspended for the first 2 group games.
