Champions League Semi Finals Results Chelsea V Barcelona
Last night saw the completion of this years Champions League Semi Finals results, the first game took place on Tuesday evening at the Camp Nou in Barcelona. Then last night we saw the second semi final game at the Bernabau. The prospects looked bright for an El Classico Champions league Final, both Spanish teams were home for this weeks semi final matches and although both teams took aggregate losses into the 2nd legs who wouldn’t back Barcelona and Real Madrid to Turn the Tables.
Champions League Semi Finals – Chelsea V Barca
So lets begin with Tuesday’s events which saw English side Chelsea attend the Camp Nou with a 1-0 lead after getting a shock win in their home game. Despite this advantage Chelsea were still rank outsiders with Barcelona stand out favorites, after Barca are the reigning champions and their home form is outstanding. That said Barca look unlikely to be La Liga champions this year after losing El Classico last week. With the game underway Barca aserted their dominance soaking up the possession and attacking in their familiar dominant style, their fortunes looked to be changed after 35 Minutes when Sergio Busquets scored for a 1-0 lead.
Then the nightmare moment came which to this moment I cant understand why John Terry did what he did, driving his knee in to the back of Sanchez in a shocking incident he saw the red card and Chelsea dropped to 10 players. Then it got worse Barcelona turned up the pressure and scored via Iniesta in the 43rd Minute. Chelsea looked sunk after 45 minutes play but this is football and what happened next is why I love this game, Chelsea’s Brazilian Ramirez then received a perfect ball from Lampard and lofted the ball over Valdez and into the net. Chelsea now had the advantage with their way with the away goal but they still had a whole 45 minutes of Barca football to last. As it turns out Chelsea put out one of the best defensive performances ever, I’ve seen teams park the bus but Chelsea built the Hoover Dam and kept Barca out. Then who should pop up in the 92nd minute none other than Fernando Torres, he rounded the keeper and slotted home that vital goal that gave the game to Chelsea.
Champions League Semi Finals Done – What Next
This result confirmed Chelsea as the first team to reach the Champions League Final, in last nights game after 90 minutes Real Reversed the first games result matching Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win from the first leg. This game came down to the penalties whic I highly recommend you watch yourselves over on the Champions League site where you can see the Champions league Semi finals results highlights.
So with the Champions league semi Finals complete we now look forward to seeing Bayern Munich play hosts in their own ground to Roberto Matteo’s Chelsea.
