Chelsea kicked off this weekends Premier League results when they made the long journey up to Newcastle for the Saturday lunch time Premier league fixture. Chelsea headed to St James Park in need of a win to ease the pressure on their manager Andre Villas Boas and they did just that with a winning Premier League results.
Chelsea opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Didier Drogba headed in after Juan Mata crossed into the box. Chelsea would have to wait till the 89th minute to make sure of all 3 points when Kalou scored after a Torres assist. Chelsea made the result look flattering when Danny Sturridge drilled past Tim Krul in stoppage time to give Chelsea their 4th game in the last 10 games.
In the first of the English Premier League results we look at Arsenals visit to the DW stadium to face a struggling Wigan. From looking at the form table the result was never in doubt as Arsenal romped to a 4 nil victory with Summer signing Mikel Arteta getting the scoring underway with a strike which went through the keepers hands. They doubled their a minute later on the 29th minute with Vermaelen scoring with a header and Arsenal made sure of the result with goals from Gervinho & Van Persie to finish the game with the 4 nil win.
Spurs have moved up to 2nd in the Premier League table with a 3 nil home victory against Bolton with a impressive 3 nil Premier League result. Bale got the scoring underway on 7 minutes and Aaron Lennon & Jermaine Defoe scored in the second half to make sure of the Premier League results.
Barclays Premier League Results – Blackburn Win
In other Barclays Premier League results Steve Kean got a vital win with a 4-2 home win over Swansea City at Ewood Park. Yakubu scored all 4 goals for Blackburn in what was his best game in a Blackburn Shirt. Swansea fought back to 3-2 with goals from Leroy Lita & Stefan Moore but they couldn’t handle Yakubu.
In the afternoons 2 other Premier League results Man City continue their great run of form with a 5-1 win over Norwich at Eastlands and Shane Long rescued a point for West Brom at Loftus Road with a 1-1 draw with QPR.
There is one more Premier fixture to be played on Saturday with Man Utd heading to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa so look out for live Premier League scores from that game. With a win Man Utd can take back their 2nd place in the Premier League standings which they lost earlier in the day to Tottenham.
