OK I’ll admit I wasnt sure if I would get a chance to submit this article today after all it is Christmas Day, however last nights games were so great I needed to write about this years NFL Christmas scores. With the 2011 NFL playoffs looming large on the horizon for many NFL teams, every football fan is now well versed on what their team must do to squeeze into the last few playoff berths.

The first game from this weeks NFL Christmas scores we are going to look at is from the NFC East where the really big game was the New York Giants Vs the New York Jets at the Meadowlands. Whilst neither team so far this season has been able to establish themselves as firm playoff contenders, it was the Giants who ended this debate by emerging as convincing victors in this NFL Christmas match up. Much of the Giants success came from a great performance from Victor Cruz who broke 2 franchise receiving records as part of this important Giants victory, both of which came in the same play which was a stunning 99 yard reception touchdown which was the longest in team history plus the longest offensive play against the Jets in team history.

NFL Christmas Scores – Cowboys Vs Eagles

In other NFL Christmas results in the NFC East the Cowboys met the Eagles, the Cowboys required a win as wins from their remaining games would guarantee a playoff spot. The Eagles required a win inorder to keep their hopes alive, however by halftime the Giants win ended their hopes, however the Eagles managed to close out a win against the Cowboys even though their season was over. In fact when I saw this game in the NFL Christmas Schedule I really believed it would be a cracker, in reality it was a massive dissapointment Michael Vick did well  throwing for 2 touchdowns in the first half. Tony Romo left the game with a hand injury which is an unnecesary worry ahead of a winner takes all game against the NY Giants next week.
