NBA Preseason Results – Irving Dazzles on debut

NBA PreseasonThe NBA preseason tipped off on friday with 4 games which kicked off the reduced NBA preseason schedule due to the lockout between the players and the league.

The 2011 NBA preseason gives the teams to sort out their rosters before the season begins on Christmas day with some blockbuster games. We begin our look at yesterdays NBA preseason scores with the unveiling of Cleveland’s new star.

After the departure of Lebron James last year the Cleveland Cavaliers have been on the hunt for their next star and they may have found it with their number 1 draft pick Kyrie Irving. Irving who was drafted 1st in the NBA Draft didn’t start the match but ended up the leading scorer as the Cavs opened up their NBA preseason with a 91-87 over the Detroit Pistons.

Irving finished the match with 21 points & 6 rebounds in his 27 minutes of work and looks like he will be able to deliver for Cleveland in his rookie season.

NBA Preseason – Hornets win without Chris Paul

In another of yesterdays NBA preseason games the New Orleans Hornets began their life with Chris Paul with a 97-90 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Hornets who traded Paul to the Clippers earlier this week will be pleased by the victory. Jarrett Jack stepped into Chris Paul’s shoes and scored 24 points, 6 asssits & 6 rebounds in a stellar performance.

There were 2 other NBA Preseason results on friday where the Chicago Bulls took on the Indiana Pacers with Derrick Rose the star performer. Rose scored 16 points on the way to the Bulls 95-86 win over the Indiana Pacers and proving that the Bulls will be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

The final game saw the 76ers dominate the Wizards 103 – 78 in their opening NBA Preseason game. Sophmore Evan Turner was the star of the show with 16 points, 7 rebounds & 3 assists.
