On the present deal the players receive 57% of the income, it has been rumoured that the players made a proposal of 53%. However it is believed that the owners rejected that and countered with an offer of 47%. The gap is 6% and the players are already offering a drop of 5% and from looking at those figures you can see why this years NBA season is in jeopardy.

Many of the players also believe that a season with many NBA players agreeing to play their basketball abroad this season. Even big name players such as Kobe Bryant are entertaining the thought of playing in Europe this year.

So far the NBA have cancelled the entire pre season and will cancel the first 2 weeks of the season if there is no deal agreed by Monday. The reduction of games will surely hit the NBA owners in their pockets as the sales of NBA tickets & NBA jerseys will surely fall if a season is unable to go ahead.
