Live Boxing News the big fight – David Haye vs Wladimir Klitschko
Are you ready for some live boxing? Well if you are tonight is the night as one of the most anticipated Heavyweight title matches for years takes place in Germany. Inside the 45’000 capacity Imtech Stadium in Hamburg the Heavyweight unification bout between WBA title holder David Haye takes on IBF & WBO Champion Wladimir Klitschko. The fight will no doubt be a bitter grudge match between the English & Ukrainian born fighters who have traded insults ever since Haye made his step up to Heavyweight.
Haye who holds a record of 25-1 with 23 knockouts is entering into his 5th fight in the Heavyweight division after winning his previous 4 bouts. His highlight was winning the WBA title on a points decision against Nikolai Valuev. Haye’s Opponent Wladmir Klitschko has been a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division having won 55 of 58 fights and 49 coming by the way of knockout, they have all been in the heavyweight division. Klitschko’s last loss came against Lamon Brewster in 2004.
If you speak to David Haye about Kliitschko’s latest victory he will tell you that they have all came against chumps and has even called some of them a disgrace to boxing. As you can tell by Haye’s comments he has little respect for what his opponent has done in the ring, but Hayes bravado and cockiness is all part of how Haye geyts inside his opponents head. It has defiantly worked as the normally quiet and reserved Wladimir has responded to the comments made by the 30 year old English boxer, showing just how much Haye has got to the boxer.
On Friday the official weigh in was completed with Haye weighing in at 15st 3lb which Haye believes to be his optimum fighting weight. Haye is giving up just over 2 stone in weight to his opponent who weighed in at 17st 5lb. This is not unusual for Haye to give up a weight disadvantage to an opponent since joint the Heavyweight division as in all his previous bouts he has been the lightest in the ring.
There is no doubt when Haye v Klitschko begins their will be fire works in the ring as you get the impression that these two guys really don’t like each other and in boxing that tends to mean we will be in for a great fight.
So now onto my prediction for the fight, well for starters i have always been a big David Haye fan as i have loved his confidence in and out of the ring but with this fight i cant stop thinking that he may have bitten off more than he can chew. As Klitschko posseses both power & speed and i’m unsure if Haye will be able to cope with this. My head is saying Klicschko in 12 rounds on points but my heart says a David Haye knockout in the 8th with Haye’s better conditioning shining through, but one thing i am sure on it will be a great fight.
So if if your watching the fight at the stadium in Hamburg, at the pub, on boxing live streaming over the web or like me on Sky box office 3d have a great night and check back to Real sporting news for the review on the big fight.
