Football Scores

Last night there were many Football scores flying in from all across europe after the respective International teams played their second game in 5 days. We got to see a rare competivite outing between two teams from the British Isles with England and Wales battling it out at Wembley.

The game saw England start the game with a narrow 1 nil over Wales thanks to a 35th minute Ashley Young Strike, the result will not come to many as a surprise as England were always heavy favourites to win. The performance of England would have surprised many especially after a confident performance on Friday against Bulgaria, simply put England were below par against Wales. The result could have been a lot worse for England if Robbie Earnshaw had put away his chance at scoring into an open goal.

However the result means England now only need a draw against Montenegro to qualify for Euro 2012 when they meet next month. In other Football Scores involving home nations Scotland kept up their hopes of qualifying with a victory over Lithuania. The match finished 1 nil after a 50th minute Naismith strike but the football score could have been better for Scotland if Darren Fletcher hadn’t missed his penalty.

Football Scores – Other Key Results

Looking at more International football scores Italy secure their place at  Euro 2012 with a 1-0 victory over Slovenia, the Italian fans had to wait until a 85th minute Pazzini goal to celebrate there qualification. In another football score Bosnia-Hercegovina kept the pressure on France at the top of Group G after a 1 nil win over Belarus.
