Golf News – Tiger Wood’s Caddie, Canadian Open and the Nordea Masters

In today’s other sporting news stories we turn to the world of golf where we have seen Steve Williams who was the caddie of Tiger Woods, part company after 12 years. The announcement was made via Tiger Woods Official website. Woods was very complimentary of the service he received from Williams and credited Williams as a contributor to many of the golfers past successes.
This news comes a week after Tiger was unable to participate in this years British Open which Darren Clark won so impressively last weekend due to injury, Williams has been working alongside Adam Scott in Tiger’s absence and Williams has announced that this relationship will become permanent.
In response to the news Williams revealed that the decision from Tiger had came as a total shock and expressed his disappointment in the premature end to their partnership. Williams acted as a caddie for Wood’s during 13 of his 14 Major Championship wins after teaming up with Tiger in 1999, due to this successful partnership Williams had gained a share of a proportion of Tigers Winnings which at one point had made him on of the highest earning sporting individuals from New Zealand. One thing is for sure it will be interesting to see if his new partner the Australian Adam Scott will be benefit from this great caddies knowledge, Tiger’s loss is certainly Scott’s gain.
Over the weekend we look forward to the current PGA tour events with the Canadian Open and the Nordea Masters on the European tour. The Canadian Open is being played on the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver British Colombia, the course is playing at a Par 70, last years champion was Carl Petterson. The Nordea Master is being played at the Bro Hof Slott Golf Club in Stockholm, Sweden, this course will be playing as a Par 72 course, last years champion was Richard S. Johnson.
