Golf News – Bridgestone Invitational Final Round up

Ok then this report is coming to you a little later than expected as I had been having some server issues over the weekend, I guess it comes with the territory when starting up a new and growing website. So let me round up a fantastic tournament with the action from the final round of the 2011 Bridgestone Invitational.

Well most of the build up speculation came around the return of Tiger Woods to the golf course, more to the point with tigers old bag man Steve Williams now holding the bag for Adam Scott this weekend just who would appear as Tigers new caddy, as it turns out Tiger chose his long term friend and business associate Byron Bell to carry his bag.

Well as we entered the final day our leader was Adam Scott who had so far performed very well and set up a very interesting climax to this day, other challengers at the start of the day included Ryo Ishikawa and Jason Day who started the day one shot back from Adam Scott at 11 under Par. Tiger Woods who has won at Firestone 7 times previously wasnt going to add an eighth title to his trophy cabinet and chalked up a round of 70 ending the tournament 1 shot over, leaving him plenty to think about for next weeks PGA championship.

Now lets turn out focus to the run for the championship, as things turned out the main focus of the days proceedings revolved around the competition for 2nd and 3rd place, many neutral supporters were pinning their hopes on Ishikawa. The stylish Japanese golfer had demonstrated a fantastic turn of form to start the day just one shot behind Scott, as the day panned out Ishikawa stood in good stead and scored a respectable -1 for the day meaning he tied for 4th place in the end guaranteeing a healthy donation to the Japanese earthquake relief fund.

The two biggest movers on day four came in the shape of the world number one Luke Donald and Fan favorite Rickie Fowler, both players scored impressive -4 scores and ended the day tied for second. As for Adam Scott he was simply superb and demonstrated an impressive victory scoring 5 under for the day and finishing -17 for the day and 4 shots clear of the chasing pack.

So a fantastic display from Adam Scott this week and the all star cast are all well and truly in place for the coming week and the final major of the year the PGA championship. We will be covering the PGA as best as we can now we have our servers sorted out, we hope to see you next later this week.
