French Open Tennis 2011 Finals Preparation
This weekend sees the finals take place at Roland Garros and the French Open and today saw the Womens final take place and the Mens final will take place tomorrow. Lets take a look at how the womens final takes place before taking a look at tomorrows Mens final.
The womens final saw reigning champion Francesca Schiavone taking on Australian Open finalist Li Na. The match saw the chance for the Italian Schiavone to retain her title and was the comfortable favourite. The match however was never in reach for the Italian and Li Na from China won her first Grand slam and also became the First Chinese player to win a grand slam title. Na dominated the match from start to finish and banished the heartbreak of losing to Kim Clijsters in the Australian open earlier on this year. Na won the match 6-4 7-6 with the match taking 1 hour 48 minutes and will now go to her highest career ranking of 5th.
Lets turn our attentions to Sundays Mens final where the two best players of this time go head to in what Im sure will be another Classic between Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal. To get to the final Federer has put a halt to Djokovich’s unbeaten streak and Nadal ended British hopes by beating Andy Murray.
Federer will be looking to win his second French open since he won in 2009 an Nadal is looking to win his 6th French Open.
This is the final that tennis fans have been hoping for and will be a great match with Nadal winning in 5 sets.
