FA Cup Scores 2012 – 5th Round

In todays FA Cup matches we saw action from 5 games with the potential for upsets high on every ones radar. As each of todays games progressed it became clear todays FA Cup scores would not dissapoint in delivering some surprising scorelines.

We start todays FA cup scores report with the game at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea met Birmingham, Birmingham are performing well in The Championship whilst Chelsea continue to falter at vital moments in the current season. Chelsea further fluffed their lines when after 20 minutes shambolic defending meant that Birmingham took the lead when David Murphy scores for the Brummie Blues. Did I hear someone mention an upset, well thankfully for you Chelsea Fans in the 62nd Minute Daniel Sturridge headed in to level things up. Birmingham however did not lay down and deservedly will pull Chelsea back to Saint Andrews for the replay after the game ended 1-1.

Our next game from todays FA Cup scores selection took place at the Stadium of Light for the match between Sunderland and Arsenal. It was hard to ignore the mid week game between Arsenal and AC Milan, could Sunderland add to the London Clubs misery. Darn straight they could although on current form this is’nt really an upset todays 2-0 victory for Sunderland underlines what will be another trophyless season from Arsenal. Sunderland scored first in the 40th Minute from Kieran Richardson and their second came by virtue of an own goal from Alex Oxlaid-Chamberlain. This leaves Arsenal needing to ensure their league scores do not mirror their FA cup scores.

FA Cup Scores – Any Upsets ?

The remaining games making up todays FA cup scores all saw teams from different divisions meaning a real upset was a strong possibility, so FA cup upset of the day goes to the game between Norwich City and Leicester City. The foxes of Leicester turned up a 2-1 upset as the away team at Carrow Road, Leicester’s first goal came early in the 4th minute from Sean St. Ledger. Sorry to have removed your anticipation for the remaining games but in the final 2 games no upset was managed.
