EPL Results – Saturday 29th October

EPLWith 8 games this Saturday in the EPL there was plenty of goals and excitement which is typical of any English Premier league weekend and we will kick off our recap of todays EPL scores at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea took on old rivals Arsenal in the biggest match of this weeks EPL schedule and it did not disappoint and kicked of this weeks EPL fixtures with a bang.

Chelsea opened the scoring on 14 minutes when Frank Lampard headed the home team ahead but would be pegged back by Robin Van Persie’s 36th minute strike. Chelsea would take the lead when John Terry scored in the 45th minute which they would keep until the half time whistle.

The second half would belong to Arsenal as they got their second equaliser of the game through Brazilian left back Santos composed finish. Theo Walcott who had a magnificent first half got the goal he deserved to give Arsenal their first lead of the game.

Chelsea would manage to get an equaliser to tie the game at 3-3 in the 80th minute when Juan Mata scored a sensational 25 yard strike. The games turning point would come in the 85th minute when a John Terry slip allowed Van Persie in to round Cech to give Arsenal the lead which they would never lose. Van Persie completed his hat trick in injury time when he lashed a strike past Cech to complete the game as 3-5 winners.

The win for Arsenal saw them leap up to 6th in the EPL standings whilst Chelsea stay in 3rd.

 EPL results continued – Can Man Utd bounce back?

In the other lunch time kick off Man Utd were looking to bounce back after their crushing defeat last weekend at the hands of city rivals Man City. Man Utd headed to Goodison Park to take on Everton and would bounce back with a win and a clean sheet.

The only goal of the game came in the 19th minute when Javier Hernandez slotted in a Patrice Evra cross. The game was a hard fought match with Everton having chances to tie the game but ultimately they couldn’t find a way past David DeGea in the Man Utd goal.

In other EPL results Man City continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 win over Wolves with Dzeko, Kolarov & Adam Johnson on the scoresheet. The only bad mark for Man City was the sending off of defender Vincent Kompany.

In more EPL latest results Norwich came from 2 goals behind to get a 3-3 draw with Blackburn and Sunderland scored a last minute equaliser to get a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at the Stadium of Light.

Swansea, Liverpool & Fulham all got wins on this weekend of EPL action. With the season still in its infancy there will be many EPL scores live every weekend up until April.
