Emirates Australian Open Golf 2011 Day 3

Day three of the Emirates Australian Open golf tournament started with Tiger Woods sitting atop of the Australian open leaderboard but the day would not finish that way.

Tiger Woods would shot a 3 over round of 75 to slide down the rankings at the Emirates Australian Open golf tournament. Woods form on Saturday showed a return to the quality of golf we had seen from Woods this year with his putting causing him problems.

Earlier in the week Woods had looked as if he was returning back to his form from his glory days when he shot his first bogey free round in 9 months, but his road to recovery seems to continuing.

The Emirates Australian Open golf tournament saw its 3rd leader atop of its leaderboard in as many days and this time it was Australian John Senden who led at the close of play. Senden shot a 9 under round of 63 to lead the tournament on 12 under par which is one shot clear of his nearest rival. John Senden’s round of 63 included an eagle & 7 birdies and gives him a great chance of claiming his 2nd Emirates Australian Open golf title.

Jason Day is Senden’s closest rival who sits on 11 under par for the tournament and has played steady throughout the week and will be looking to make a late charge on Sunday to claim the 2011 Emirates Australian Open golf tournament.

The leader after the first day Jarrod Lyle fared better today shooting a 3 under round of 69 to sit 4 shots back of the leader. Adam Scott shot a 1 under par 71 for the second consecutive day to sit 7 shots back which may be too far back to make any impact on the leader.

With the Emirates Australian Open golf moving into the final day it will be difficult to pick a winner with many players bunched atop of the Australian Open Leaderboard.
