Lets begin todays roundup looking back at last nights Wimbledon news with the results of the last couple of mens matches from Monday evening.

Lets start with the Nadal Vs Del Potro match which saw both players needing the assistance of the doctor. Nadal needed the doctor towards the end of the first set when struggling with a foot/achilles injury & Del Potro need the doctor after a slip which appear to hyper extend his hip. However World Number one Rafael Nadal battled through to take the victory in 4 sets 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 and will now face Mardy Fish in the quarter final.

Roger Federer suffered a shock in the 1st set of his 4th round match with Mikhail Youzhny when the Russian won the first set but normal service was resumed by the 6 time Wimbledon Champion. Federer received to win the match in 4 sets 6-7 (7-5) 6-3 6-3 6-3 and keep all top 4 seeds in the tournament and Federer will face Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in his quarter final match.

The quarter finals will take place on the Wednesday where Andy Murray will face the Unseeded Feliciano Lopez and hopes of a British winner at Wimbledon 2011 will gain more momentum if he makes the Semi Final.

So moving to Tuesdays action where it was Womens Quarter Final day and the now favourite Maria Sharapova wasted little time taking an hour to beat the Slovakian 24th seed Dominika Cibulkova 6-1 6-1 setting up a semi final with Sabine Lisicki who beat Marion Bartoli 6-4 6-7 (4-7) 6-1. Sharapova should have a great chance of making the final when she meets the German Wild Card in Thurdays semi final and will hope to win her first Wimbledon title since 2004.

The top remaining womens seed Victoria Azarenka managed to overcome a rain delay and a court change from Court 1 to Centre to beat Tamira Paszekin straight sets 6-3 6-1. Her win finalised the Semi final line up where she will face Petra Kvitova who beat Tsvetana Pironkova 6-3 6-7(5-7) 6-2 to reach her second Wimbledon semi final in a row.

Moving away from tennis and into the latest transfer talk and the main headline makers appear to be Sunderland with 2 deals nearing Completion. Craig Gardner appears to be making the move to Sunderland in a £5million move and young Ipswich Striker Connor Wickham is rumoured to be agreeing a £13million move.

In other transfer rumours Barcelona appear to be close to getting Cesc Fabregas after a £35million bid was made for the midfielder.

In Cricket news Alastair Cook had a first game as Captain of the England cricket team with a 110 run win over Sri Lanka despite him struggling with the bat. England Set Sri Lanka a score of 229 runs to win with Craig Kieswetter setting the top score of 61 a target which Sri Lanka would get nowhere near with a 4 wicket haul from James Anderson halting there progress on a 121 all out performance.
