College Football – Week 4 2011 Round Up
As we enter Week 4 of the College football season teams are already staking their claim to be a part of the National title game in New Orleans in January. The National Championship College football takes place between the top 2 teams in the College football rankings at the end of the season and will be broadcast as part of ESPN College football schedule.
The College football teams sitting atop of the rankings at present are Oklahoma and LSU and they both enjoyed wins at the weekend to extend their unbeaten start to the season. Oklahomed were at home facing Big 12 rivals Missouri and won with a scoreline of 38-28 to move to 3-0 for the season. Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles hooked up for 3 touchdowns in a tightly contested game at the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
LSU faced of against 16th ranked West Virginia and the result was never in doubt as LSU never trailed in the game and won the 47-21. Quarterback Jarret Lee only threw for 180 yards but threw for 3 Touchdowns and 0 interceptions. They also rushed for 3 more touchdowns with running back Michael Ford getting 2 and Alfred Blue getting the other.
College Football – Remaining Results
To round out the other top 5 college football scores 3rd ranked Alabama beat SEC rivals and 14th ranked Arkansas 38-14 & 4th ranked Boise state beat Tulsa 41 -21 behind a 4 touchdown performance from Quarterback Kellen Moore.
Only 1 College football team in the top 25 lost to an unranked opponent and that unlucky honour fell to USC who lost to Arizona State at the Sun Devil Stadium. The final result was 43-22 and saw the Sun Devil’s end a 11 game losing streak against the trojans. The loss for USC will surely see the trojans fall out of the top 25 this week.
Whilst USC will be moving out of the rankings Clemson will be moving up the rankings after defeating a ranked opponent for the second straight week. Clemson who went into the week ranked 21st defeated 11th ranked Florida State 35 -30 thanks to 3 TD’s from Quarterback Tajh Boyd.
The college football season is really heating up and as conference play is beginning many rivalries will resume and the rankings will surely be shaken up. By taking a look at the college football schedule you will make sure you don’t miss your teams big game.
