On Thursday Kentucky defeated Western Kentucky easily 81-66 and on Friday North Carolina defeated Vermont easily again 77- 58 & the remaining number 1 seed got the better of Michigan state defeated LIU Brooklyn 89-67.

However the Kentucky Wildcats trailed 41-28 at the half with Mississippi State looking in complete control, however a second half score of 45-23 in favour of Kentucky would give them the 73-64 win to move their record to 27-1.
