In an entertaining evening of College Basketball scores on Wednesday the highlight game of the evening was being played at the Dean Smith Center in North Carolina.

The matchup was decided by a 3 point buzzer beater from freshman guard Austin Rivers to get the rivalry win for the Blue Devils. Rivers scored a season high 29 points as the Blue Devils shocked the Tar Heels who never looked like losing the game.

The 2012 NCAA Basketball Rankings at present sees Kentucky at number 2, North Carolina at 3 with undefeated Baylor at number 4. Baylor have been this years surprise package this college basketball season who are still undefeated with a record of 16-0. Rounding out the top 5 of the mens NCAA Basketball Rankings is Ohio State who hold a record of 15-2.
The NCAA Basketball rankings top 10 features Michigan State, Indiana, Duke Missouri & Kansas in that order to round out the top 10 College football teams.

The games pivotal play game in the 2nd quarter when WVU safety Cook returned a fumble for 99 yards to score one of West Virginia’s 5 touchdowns in the 2nd Quarter.

In the Sugar Bowl 13th ranked Michigan wrapped up an impressive 1st season for Coach Brady Hoke with a 23-20 victory over 11th ranked Virginia State.

OK so we have all had our fair share of turkey and other tasty morcles, so I think it is really time to get back into the sports mood with a catch up of the Christmas Bowl Game Scores. As I am sure you will already know all the big bowl games are still to come over the next 10 days, but first let me guide you through the Christmas Bowl Game Scores that have kept us going through this festive period.
The first of our Christmas Bowl games scores begins on Christmas Eve where we watched the 21st Ranked Southern Miss take on Nevada in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl game. Much of the focus of this game fell on the Southern Miss Quarterback Austin Davis and their Coach Larry Fedora, this game was the last game where Coach Fedora would coach his Golden Eagles. As things turned out this game was much closer fought than expected with Davis not really having his best game, however he made his plays count and made 2 vital touchdown plays to guide Southern Miss to a record breaking 12 wins this season. Southern Miss Won 24-17 in the first of 2 Christmas Bowl Game Scores.

On Christmas day we did not have any Games so are unable to report on any Christmas Bowl game scores, so Boxing Day again saw one bowl game played which was the Advocare V100 Independence Bowl. The Independence Bowl 2011 saw Missouri in action against UNC, and to be fair it was a game where North Carolina never really posed much threat. Missouri ran out easy victors beating UNC 41 points to 24, James Franklin lead the way for the Tigers becoming the games MVP by rushing for 142 yards and throwing for 132 yards this lead Missouri to a bowl record of 31 first half points rounding off an outstanding Christmas bowl game scores schedule.

Bowl Game Scores Poinsettia & Beef ‘o’ Brady’s Bowl Games
Since the 3 Bowl Game Scores on Saturday their have only been 2 other College Bowl games and we will take a look at the latest bowl game scores.
The first bowl game since Saturday was the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s bowl which took place at Tropicana Field in Saint Petersburg in Florida. The 2 teams taking place in the game were Florida International of the Sun Belt conference & Marshall of Conference USA.
The Bowl game scores were tied at 10-10 at half time but the second half belonged to Marshall who scored a touchdown & a field goal in the 4th quarter to win their bowl game. The field goal broke the tie with 5 minutes remaining and Rakeem Cato threw the touchdown to Aaron Dobson with 32 seconds on the clock to make sure of the victory.
2011 Bowl Game Scores – Poinsettia Bowl
In another 2011 Bowl game scores came from the state of California with the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. 18th ranked TCU took on Louisiana Tech at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. It was a game that many thought would be easy for the Horned frogs but ended up a lot closer than people thought.
TCU were trailing 24-17 going into the 4th quarter by a score of 24-17 after Myles White made a 61 yard touchdown pass from Colby Cameron.
However the 4th quarter belonged to TCU when Luke Shivers rushed in for a touchdown to tie the scores at 24-24 with 7 minutes remaining. A touchdown pass from Casey Pachall to Skye Dawson was the deciding score to give TCU the 31-24 win.
