Bay Hill Arnold Palmer Invitational 2012 Preview

Bay Hill

Bay Hill 2012 – A treat of Golf

14 Days to go, that’s what I thought this morning as I made my daily commute to work, yes 14 days until my favourite tournament of the year The Masters at Augusta. However I then recoiled and remembered that today saw the start of another favorite tournament the Bay Hill Arnold Palmer Invitational 2012, for as long as I can remember this tournament has offered an excellent dress rehearsal for the first Major Championship of the golfing season.

To my disappointment there are going to be some notable absences from this years Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, for starters both of the worlds top 2 golfers will be absent from this years Bay Hill Invitational. That’s right both Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy are missing out on the Bay Hill Arnold Palmer Invitational 2012, their omissions from this invitational event did not go
unnoticed either. Arnold Palmer openly showed his disappointment that Rory was missing, this was even after Rory courteously wrote to Arnold Palmer to explain his absence. McIlroy is opting to watch his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki in Miami before getting in some essential practice for Augusta. Luke Donald however passed up his invite for the Bay Hill Arnold Palmer 2012 in favour of participation in the Transitions tournament which he won earlier this week, Donald therefore rests this week ahead of next weeks big game the Bay Hill Arnold Palmer golf tournament is not historically favoured by Donald anyway.

Bay Hill Arnold Palmer 2012  - Includes Tiger

What this has left us with in this Bay Hill Invitational 2012 is a very open field, Tiger Woods is set to play even with his injured Achilles tendon. But can Woods win this years Bay Hill Arnold Palmer Invitational, after all no other player has ever performed so well at the Bay Hill Golf Course which is a course which historically has favored big hitters.

Other names that are featuring are Phil Mickelson, Webb Simpson, Sergio Garcia and Bo Van Pelt. At time of Writing Tiger Woods is featuring well in Tied 3rd place whilst Charlie Wi leads the way.
