World Series Game 6 2011

World SeriesAfter a change to the World Series Schedule due to rain forecasted in the St Louis area World Series Game 6 was moved to Thursday rather than the original slate of playing on Wednesday at Busch Stadium. The rainout was the first rainout in World Series history since  2008.

After World Series Game 5 the Texas Rangers were just one win away from becoming the 2011 World Series Winners. In Game 5 the last home game for the Texas Rangers saw a Mike Napoli double help the Rangers on the way to a 4-2 win over the St Louis Cardinals.

In a World Series which has been very back and forth with neither team being able to take control of the series. However the Cardinals head back home for the next 2 games and the Cardinal faithful will hope that the homefield advantage will allow them to be this years World Series Champions.

World Series – Preview

Looking ahead to tonights match where many believe that despite the extra rest for the pitchers both teams will stick with the same starting pitchers. For Texas Colby Lewis is on the mound hoping to pitch his team to the final win in World Series 2011. For the Cardinals Jaime Garcia will take to the mound who has already coped with pressure earlier on in this years postseason.

This is the second consecutive World Series appearance for texas who lost in last years World Series to the San Francisco Giants. Texas would lose the series 4-1 but have bounced back this season and are on the verge of winning the franchise first World Series.

My prediction for tonights match would be to expect a home win and the evenly contested World Series to go to game 7.

That concludes our look ahead to tonights World Series game 6 and if your looking for the World Series score visit ESPN who will keep you up to date with the World Series Live.

His Opposing pitcher Chris Carpenter would be flawless only allowing 3 hits to shut out the Phillies in a complete game performance. Daily Sports News Stories – Football Transfer News and All Star Baseball

Tuesday was another slow sporting day with little sporting action so will focus on the latest football news.

The biggest transfer news story to come out today was the news this morning that the Brazilian Club Corinthians had made a bid for want away Man City star Carlos Tevez. The fee was believed to have been in the region of £35million which was still £5million short of City’s valuation. City had not made any comment on the situation and rumours had been circling that Tevez had already agreed personal terms with the Brazilian club. This evening Man City has rejected the bid and have said that they will need to increase their bid if they want to bring the striker back to the club where he spent two seasons in 2004- 2006 before leaving the club. The rejection of the bid only furthers the belief that Man City are in no rush to sell Tevez and will not be held to ransom. I think this is a great stance for a club to take and may finally begin to show the clubs taking power from the players and forcing them to honour their contracts. Read more…

Saturdays was packed full of sporting news with the Qualifying for the British GP at Silverstone, The fifth One day international, The Scottish Open and England’s Women football team in the Quarter final of the Women’s Woirld Cup.

Qualifying for the Brtitish Grand Prix produced a mixed bag of results as the home fans were left disappointed when the two English Mclaren drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton could only qualify 5th and 10th respectively. This diminishes the hope of a English Winner for the race, however a surprise 6th place on the grid was for the Scot Paul Di Resta in his first British Grand Prix. Read more…
