MLB Opening Day 2012 Preview
For any Major League baseball fan there is only one date ingrained in their Diary, that is Wednesday the 4th of April. Although the official MLB Opening day 2012 is technically Thursday 5th of April, we see the Miami Marlins play host to the Cardinals.
MLB Opening Day 2012 – Opening Game
What an occassion MLB Opening Day 2012 should be as it will be the stage for the opening of a brand new MLB ball park in Miami. Historically speaking Opening days have taken place on Sundays or Mondays so a Wednesday evening start for a single centerpiece game may be the sign of things to come. Of course the opening of the New Marlins BallPark will pay homage to the legacy of their former home at the Orange Bowl, the new Ballpark will seat 37,000 fans and features a retractable roof which will prove useful this summer due to the Miami climate. Even better news for the Marlins is that they have won every single game held on the innaugral game at a new ball park. Obviously this will be not easy task based on the achievements of the Cardinals last season, but still lets hope history repeats itself on this MLB Opening day 2012.
MLB Opening Day 2012 – Scheduled match ups
Turning the attention to Thursday 5th April which is MLB Opening Day 2012, we will see a further 6 games to open the season with a bang these match ups are, The blue Jays at The Indians, Phillies take on the Pirates, Braves Vs Mets, Red Sox at the Detroit Tigers, LA Dodgers at the Padres and last but not least the Nationals travel to Chicago to play the Cubs.
The first full schedule of games will play out on Saturday the 7th of April with 15 games ready to go ahead.
This MLB Opening Day 2012 will see the start of a historic season as we will see Fenway Park celebrate it’s centennial later in April on the 20th, then later on this season we will see the LA Dodgers celebrate 50 years in the iconic Dodgers Stadium.
So make sure you celebrate MLB Opening Day 2012 in style with family and friends the way this great game should be enjoyed. Also check out all the MLB Opening Day 2012 news and MLB Opening day 2012 scores right here on RSN.com.

London 2012 Olympics – Olympic Park Venues
As we all know the London 2012 Olympics are almost upon us and the athletes will compete at a range of purpose built venues across the UK. Some of these venues form what is known as the Olympic Park, let me guide you through these venues so we can plan for what lies ahead.
London 2012 Olympics – What a great Centre piece
First up in our review of the venues for the London 2012 Olympics we have the centerpiece venue, this is the Olympic Stadium which will play host to the athletics events. In total 208 events will be held in the Olympic Stadium which is one of the most sustainable stadiums of it’s size ever built and has taken nearly 3 years to complete. 80,000 spectators will watch the events of the London 2012 Olympics from within this stadium, it will be an amazing spectacle.
Next up in the London 2012 Olympics venues is the Velodrome which will host the Track Cycling events during the games. This venue will host 28 events and will become a permanent centre or excellence for cycling after the games ends.
Our next venue for the London 2012 Olympics is the Aquatics centre which will play host to 192 events. What a treat of events they are we will see Swimming, Diving, Modern Pentathlon and Synchronised Swimming events.
For our Fourth venue at the London 2012 Olympics we find the rather unusual Copper Box venue. Just 6 Events will take place in the Copper Box and it will remain as a permanent venue following the end of the games. Handball, Fencing and Modern Pentathlon will provide the highlights at this venue.
London 2012 Olympics – Temporary Venues
The Basketball arena will play host to a number of events at the London 2012 Olympics, these events will include the finals of the Handball competition. Surprisingly even though this venue is quite large it is a temporary structure which will be dismantled after the games ends.
One of the most exciting venues is the relatively small BMX track which hosts the 400 meter specialist track, so far the track has already played host to the 2012 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup and will form part of a New Velo Park following the games.
The remaining 3 London 2012 Olympic venues are quite specialist in their function such as Eton Park which will be used for Wheelchair Tennis in the Paralympics. Then there is the Riverbank arena which will be the home of Hockey during the 2012 London Olympics and then the Water Polo arena which is a temporary venue that will house the Water Polo events.
One thing that is for sure is that the London 2012 Olympics is set to be a magnificent games to be enjoyed by the whole of the world. We will be covering all the headlines from the London 2012 Olympics right here on Real Sporting news.

Latest Baseball Rumors – Opening Night game
Unsurprisingly many of the latest baseball rumors involve the teams involved in this Wednesdays opening night match up between the Cardinals and the Marlins. Take the Marlins for example their starting line up will be seriously lacking as Logan Morrison and Giancarlo Stanton look likely to be starting the season on the disabled list. Both players are suffering from knee injuries and suffered freak injuries whilst training Morrison got hit in the shoulder by a pitching machine and Stanton slipped on a wet pool deck which could of been nasty.
The latest baseball rumors coming from the Cardinals camp involve the indefinate injury of Chris Carpenter, his right shoulder injury is not likely to be better for a number of months. The good news for Carpenter and you Cardinals fans is that Surgery is not going to be required, however the nerve irritation affecting the pitchers shoulder is proving hard to treat.
Latest Baseball Rumors – Most popular
Elsewhere the latest baseball rumors coming out of the Detroit Tigers camp surround the return of Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera suffered a broken bone underneath his right eye during a warm up game, rumor is that Cabrera will be available on opening day 2012 even though the injury looked nasty when it first happened.
The latest baseball rumors from the Phillies further confirm that 5 time all star Chase Utley will not make opening day this season, he has ongoing knee issues that require further attention. Fortunately Surgery is not likely and his issues should clear up under the correct treatment, this means that Chase will return sooner rather than later.
