With the NFL regular season now a distant memory American football fans are focussing on the 2012 NFL Playoff schedule and more importantly this weekends 2012 NFL Wild Card Weekend featuring 4 2012 NFL Playoff match ups.
The 1st game of the 2012 NFL Wild Card schedule sees the Houston Texans take on the Cincinatti Bengals in Houston. For the Houston Texans it is there first appearance in the Playoffs let alone the Wildcard games in the Franchise’s history and the Bengals are looking for their first postseason victory in 21 years.
For the Texans they will rely heavily upon running back Arian Foster who carries the load for the team after they lost 2 quarterbacks earlier in the season and now have T.J Yates as their starting Quarterback. For Bengals are hoping their 2 star players Rookie Quarterback Andy Dalton & Rookie Wide Receiver AJ Green can cope with the pressure of the playoffs.
The 2nd of the 2012 NFL Wild Card games sees the potential for a shootout when the Detriot Lions face off against the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome. Both teams have franchise Quarterbacks the Lions have number 1 draft pick Matt Stafford & the Saints have Drew Brees who is fresh off breaking Dan Marino’s regular season yardage record after he threw for an astonishing 5476 yards this season. The Saints have won their last 3 match ups against the Lions but this game has the potential to be one of the Classic NFL Playoff matches.
2012 NFL Wild Card Weekend Schedule – Sundays Matchups
Moving Onto Sundays 2012 NFL Wild Card schedule which sees the second NFC game of the weekend with the Falcons travelling to New York to take on the Giants at Met Life Stadium. The Giants won into the playoffs last weekend after beating the Dallas Cowboys whilst the Falcons are the 5th seeded Wildcard after finishing the regular season 10-6. The 2012 NFL Wild Card match up sees 2 premier QB’S going head to head in Matt Ryan of the Falcons and the Much improved Eli Manning.
The final game of the 2012 NFL Wild Card Weekend comes from the AFC with the Steelers facing the Broncos in Denver is a very lopsided looking contest. The Steelers are heavy favourites coming into the game and will expect to advance to the divisional match ups despite Ben Roethlisberger being banged up. The Broncos will need a big performance from quarterback Tim Tebow if they have any chance of advancing from the 2012 NFL Wildcard weekend.
