2012 NBA All Star Weekend Schedule

This years 2012 NBA All Star game this year takes place in Orlando at the Amway Center on Saturday 25th February. The 2012 NBA All Star Weekend begins on the 24th with all of the typical activities which you expect such as the Sprite Slam Dunk contest.

In other parts of the 2012 NBA All star schedule will see the BBVA Rising Star Challenge on Friday whilst on Saturday the Foot Locker 3pt Contest & Taco Bell Skills Challenge take place.

2012 NBA All Star East Roster

Looking ahead to the 2012 NBA All Star game itself the 2012 NBA All Star Game rosters have now been announced and we will give you the starters for each team.

The Eastern All Stars features 2 players from the Miami Heat, 1 from the Chicago Bulls, 1 from the New York Knicks & 1 from the host city the Orlando Magic. Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony & Dwight Howard will all start for the East Roster as the were atop of the 2012 NBA All Star Voting results for their position.

Today saw the reserves announced for the East team and those reserves feature the 3rd member of Miami’s big 3 Chris Bosh & 3 players going to their 1st NBA All Star game. Those 3 players are Chicago’s Luol Deng, Indiana’s Roy Hibbert & Andre Iguodala from the 76ers.

2012 NBA All Star West Roster

In the 2012 NBA All Star West roster features 4 players from the 2 LA teams & 1 from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kobe Bryant & Andrew Bynum from the Lakers, Blake Griffin & Chris Paul from the Clippers & Kevin Durant from the Thunder.

For Kobe Bryant it is his 14th consecutive All star selection where as for players like Westbrook, Marc Gasol & LaMarcus Aldridge it is their 1st trip to the NBA All Star Game.

The 2012 NBA All star weekend will also feature the Sprite Slam Dunk contest where the participants will have to try and beat Blake Griffin’s dunk over a car from 2011.

No doubt Orlando will be buzzing when the 2012 All Star game rolls in the Amway Center but NBA fans will not be disappointed by the multitude of stars on show.
